Assistant Equipment Mechanic
 
London Hunt and Country Club is accepting applications to join our Senior Grounds Management Team as Assistant Equipment Mechanic.

This year-round position will present the opportunity to:
  • Work with the Head Equipment Manager and Senior Management Team to achieve course excellence through commitment
  • Under the guidance of the Head Equipment Manager, diagnose and repair mechanical issues within the turf equipment fleet including; diesel, electric, gasoline-powered vehicles, tractors, rollers and mowers
  • Develop the art of sharpening and adjusting sophisticated mowing equipment under the guidance and tutelage of the Head Equipment Manager
  • Carry out preventative maintenance tasks to a high standard, including detailed record keeping, in a timely manner
  • Help train staff in the safe and efficient use of golf course maintenance equipment within Club SOP guidelines
  • Exposure to industry wide networking within the turfgrass industry while representing the Club as a professional leader
Qualifications required:
  • 3-5-years of equipment technician experience within the golf, automotive, agricultural or heavy equipment field
  • Preference given to the holder of a Certificate of Qualification in a related trade
  • Must possess a clean driver’s abstract
  • Proven leadership and effective communication skills – observation, listening, problem solving, forward thinking
  • Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse environment
  • Character, commitment to learning, integrity, talent and a humble desire to climb the mountain

Seasonal Greenskeeper

Banquet Server

London Hunt and Country Club is accepting applications to join our Food and Beverage Team as a Banquet Server.

Job Summary
Set up and clean banquet rooms and serve banquets.

This position will present the opportunity to:
  • Perform related banquet set-up tasks.
  • Provide immediate attention to all guests upon seating them.
  • Take beverage orders and serve food in specified station.
  • Pour and refill wine, coffee, water and other beverages served with and after the meal.
  • Clear soiled dishes as needed.
  • Clean all assigned work areas in kitchen and banquet areas.
  • Advise supervisor of any member or guest complaints as soon as they occur.
  • Assist in closing functions by performing various tasks such as removing linen, busing glasses, dishes, silverware, etc., and re-setting the room for the next function.
  • Attend staff meetings including pre-service (line-up) sessions.
  • Assure that all federal and local laws and club policies and procedures for the service of alcoholic beverages are consistently followed.
  • Thank members and guests; invite them to return.
  • Consistently follow all sanitation-related requirements, including those related to personal hygiene.
  • Complete other appropriate assignments made by the Banquet and Catering Manager or Banquet Supervisor.
  • Knowledge of food and wine.
Qualifications Required
  • Successful completion of the Smart Serve Certificate (prior to start date).
  • Ability to interact with guests and colleagues in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to follow instructions.
  • Successful completion of the Safe Food Handlers Certificate (recommended).
  • Successful police check for the vulnerable sector may be required.
Education/Experience
  • 6 months food service experience is preferred but we pride ourselves on the ability to train the right individual with passion for serving others.
  • Must possess a secondary school diploma or equivalent.

Dining Room Server

London Hunt and Country Club is accepting applications to join our Food and Beverage Team as a Dining Room Server.

Job Summary
Provide food and beverage service to the Club’s Members and guests in the Clubhouse.

This position will present the opportunity to:
  • Set up side station and perform assigned side (prep) work.
  • Provide immediate attention to all Members and guests upon seating.
  • Distribute food and wine menus; answer inquiries.
  • Take members’ and guests’ orders; suggestively sell food and beverage items, if appropriate.
  • Place orders with kitchen; inform cooks about any special cooking instructions.
  • Serve meals; place dishes by course in front of each person.
  • Check back to ensure member and guest satisfaction; replenish water and butter as necessary.
  • Remove soiled dishes.
  • Present dessert menus, suggest and serve dessert, coffee, and after-dinner drinks.
  • Present the bill
  • Handle all cash and credit card charges as prescribed by standard operating procedures.
  • Keep tables, dining room and bus station areas clean.
  • Advise supervisor of any complaints as soon as they occur.
  • Perform clean-up and closing duties as assigned by the manager.
  • Attend pre-meal meetings as requested by the dining room captain (dining room supervisor, dining room manager, or outlet manager).
  • Thank members and guests; invite them to return.
  • Consistently follow local and federal laws and the club’s policies and procedures for the service of alcoholic beverages to members and guests.

Men's Locker Room Attendant (Seasonal)

London Hunt and Country Club is accepting applications to join our Housekeeping Team as the Men's Locker Room Attendant.

Job Summary
The Locker Room Attendant position deals directly with Members and their guests. They should endeavor to solve any problems that a Member or guest may encounter and inform management of any issues brought forth. This position is for the Men’s Locker Room.

This position will present the opportunity to:

  • Greet all Members and guests as they enter the locker room.
  • Create daily guest sheets and assign guest lockers.
  • Clean and polish golf shoes and place in shoe drawers.
  • Ensure guest lockers are set up properly, as well as clean, tidy and emptied when not in use.
  • Perform general cleaning duties, including vacuuming, dusting surfaces, cleaning washrooms, including toilets, showers, mirrors, counters, wash towels, empty garbage’s etc.
  • Daily laundry duties.
  • Ensure all locker room items and amenities are always stocked.  
  • Maintain a safe and clean locker room environment.
  • Follow all Health & Safety policies and locker room/service procedures & standards.

Night Cleaner (Seasonal)

London Hunt and Country Club is accepting applications to join our Housekeeping Team as Night Cleaner.

Job Summary
The night cleaner will be responsible to clean Member facilities overnight, so they are presentable for use in the morning.

This position will present the opportunity to:

  • Clean and supply designated facility areas (dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, cleaning ceiling vents, restroom cleaning etc).
  • Clean washrooms, including toilets, showers, mirrors, counters, wash towels, empty garbage’s etc.
  • Operate various equipment including the auto-scrubber.
  • Perform daily laundry duties, stock and maintain amenities.
  • Follow all Health & Safety policies.
Job Specifications/Qualifications Required
  • Must be flexible to work various shifts- mainly overnight (11pm-7am), including weekdays, weekends and holidays.
  • Pleasant personality and cooperative nature.
  • Member service, able to converse with Members and guests in a professional manner
  • Must be clean and neat in appearance and in proper uniform.
  • Must be able to understand and to speak, read and write English fluently.
  • Able to stand/walk for a full shift.
  • Physically capable of pushing, pulling, lifting and carrying up to 20 kg.
  • Must submit a clean Police Background Check for working with the Vulnerable Sector prior to employment start date.
  • Must be able to safely drive a golf cart.
